6 Books I Enjoyed Recently That Weren't My Typical Genre
I have picked books that I have read in the past year that are from different genres than I typically read.
1) Annalise's Up and Down Day by Denise Jenne - I don't know the last time I read a children's book and this one was super cute! I forgot how much I like the illustrations of children's books.
2) Watchman by Alan Moore - I loved the comic aspect along with the text in the book. The story was easy to follow and a great read!
3) Troublemaker by Janet Evanovich - I love her writing and was delighted to see that she had a graphic novel as well that really captured her writing style through illustrations.
4) The Color Purple by Alice Walker - I haven't read a classic novel in awhile. So this was a great add to my list and broke up my reading patterns. I also loved the book!
5) The Dean Machine by Dylan Lee Peters - This was the fist science fiction book I have read in awhile and loved it. It put me on the path of reading more and more science fiction now.
6) The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett - I haven't read any British Literature in awhile and this book was excellent read and funny. It was super short, but the comedy made you want more.

I loved The Color Purple. I read it in school and it was one of the few required books I really enjoyed. Great list!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe Color Purple was one of the only "required" books that I read in school that I LOVED. It's a beautiful, painful story. Definitely everybody should read that :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! It is a must read!
