Janet Evanovich, author of the blockbuster Stephanie Plum novels, and Lee Goldberg, writer for the Monk television show, team up once again for the fifth book in their rollicking, New York Times bestselling Fox and O’Hare series!
Nicolas Fox, international con man, thief, and one of the top ten fugitives on the FBI’s most-wanted list, has been kidnapped from a beachfront retreat in Hawaii. What the kidnapper doesn’t know is that Nick Fox has been secretly working for the FBI. It isn’t long before Nick’s covert partner, Special Agent Kate O’Hare, is in hot pursuit of the crook who stole her con man.
The trail leads to Belgium, France, and Italy, and pits Nick and Kate against their deadliest adversary yet: Dragan Kovic, an ex–Serbian military officer. He’s plotting a crime that will net him billions . . . and cost thousands of American lives.
Nick and Kate have to mount the most daring, risky, and audacious con they’ve ever attempted to save a major U.S. city from a catastrophe of epic proportions. Luckily they have the help of an eccentric out-of-work actor, a bandit who does his best work in the sewers, and Kate’s dad, Jake. The pressure’s on for Nick and Kate to make this work—even if they have to lay their lives on the line.

My thoughts:
I believe I have stated this before, but I love Janet Evanovich books and couldn't resist picking up her latest book. This book series follows Kate who is an FBI agent who is working with Nicolas Fox a most wanted con man. The FBI secretly wants Nick and Kate to take down people that they wouldn't be able to get to without him.
I have read the first four books in the series and haven't really enjoyed the past few I felt like they lacked the excitement I was used to reading in Janet Evanovich series. This book for some reason I really enjoyed and couldn't put down. The last book left with a huge cliffhanger of Nick being abducted from his rental home in Hawaii after they completed a big con. Kate was right on the tail of Nick to try and figure out who abducted him and to get him back in custody. They find out though that while Nick was abducted the man who took him is planing on releasing an epidemic in the US.
I love Kate and Nick as characters. They are such opposites and click so well together. Nick is so charismatic and seems like he doesn't have a care in the world, while Kate is always working and trying to make sure every little detail is in place. I think they both have an extreme attention to detail which does make them the same in some sense. I can see how it is possible for them to end up together. I love that Nick really works out the con scheme and Kate helps to keep them together.
I also really enjoy reading about the side characters. They use the same people in most of the books. I love that each character has accepted their role of being part of a con that they actually don't know what is really going on, but think they are helping the the world.
One of my favorite characters is Kate's Dad. No matter what the situation he has his daughters back and is always there for her. I love the family bond that you can see between these two, even if it is unconventional. I also love his old buddies who help Kate and Nick out in this con. The sharp shooter who wears thick glasses and the larger man who can disappear. It is great that no matter how old you are that you can still do the things you did when you where younger.
I enjoyed the story line in this book I felt like it touched on more currents events and did seem logical. It dealt with a lot of thought out facts like the location and also used a lot of history details.
I would suggest this as a beach read or a book when you need to take your mind off of everything. The book is a super easy light read.
