Review
When I finished this book my initial reaction was unsure of how I felt. I think the concept of bullying is one that is more prevalent in society and something that should be more talked about so I liked that the book focused on this idea. I just felt like the story got a little repetitive maybe since the main focus was revenge. The book picks up towards the end, which kept me reading, but it just felt repetitive in nature.
Samantha is an interesting character to read. The story is told through her eyes only so we get to hear here stream of thought while reading. I would have loved to get the feelings and thoughts of another character I really think this would have made the book more elaborate and more interesting. Samantha has had a hard life and not on her own doing, her parents disappointed her at a young age and she was left to pick up the pieces. As a reader the author did a great job setting up Samantha's hard life and you can see why she decided to take revenge on Jessica.
I think the author did a great job capturing the mind of a teenager. As a teenager looking back I might have thought things where right at the time, but they might not have been right in the long run. I think reading this as an adult I can see these things a little better. I think at the 17 you sometimes just react to situations versus looking at the long term effects. The author captured in my mind the essence of a teenager, which made this book more interesting to read.
I would suggest this as a nighttime read, it was easy to read and a quick read. It was also easy to follow along with the chapters. It is a book that can be picked up and put down and get right back into the story.
