Review
I loved Mia Hopkins book Cowboy Karma and couldn’t wait to
read her next book. Cowboy Rising
follows another cowboy Daniel MacKinnon who runs his parent’s ranch. Journalist Georgia Meyer is writing an
article about the MacKinnon ranch and runs into Daniel. At
first it looks like Daniel is blowing off Georgia, but after unforeseen events
they end up spending one hot night together.
I think I loved this book more than Cowboy Karma. I didn’t find the sex scenes to be as graphic
in this book, but I found the romance build up to be perfect. I loved how the author was able to create the
romance between these two characters. It
felt so real and it just clicked for me.
The book is again told in both
Daniel’s perspective as well as Georgia’s perspective, which really helped me
see a complete picture and the romance.
Daniel is a character who is in a rock and hard place. Daniel thought he knew what he wanted to do
in his life and then his father got sick and he had to run the ranch. Daniel had a whole different life planned and
had to do a 180. Daniel is trying to piece together now a new
life plan and then Georgia arrives.
Georgia is such a great female lead that the author created
for this book. She is a journalist who
doesn’t stay in one place long and also is in an industry that is not doing
well. Georgia takes everything in strive
that has happened to her and still keeps going forward. I like how strong of a character the author
made Georgia she was great to read about!
The storyline is very fast paced and is easy to follow along
with. The story follows a very natural
progression. Also, the author does a great
job describing the scenes as they are occurring in the book. I felt
like I could imagine the farm while Georgia is touring.
I would recommend this as a nighttime read. It was a perfect book to unwind with after a
long day of work. It was easy to take
your mind off of life and sink into a cute romance.

Author
Bio:
Mia Hopkins writes lush romances starring fun,
sexy characters who love to get down and dirty. She's a sucker for working
class heroes, brainy heroines and wisecracking best friends.
When she's not lost in a story, Mia spends her
time cooking, gardening, traveling, volunteering and looking for her keys. In a
past life, she was a classroom teacher and still has a pretty good
"teacher voice" and "teacher stare."
She lives in the heart of Los Angeles with her
roguish husband and two waggish dogs.
