Goodbye January
Hello February
...................................................
My goal for this year is going to be staying on top of my blogging with reading and writing my reviews right away. I eventually want to update my blog a little bit, but I need to get out of the backlog of reviews first. I have been struggling to write my reviews recently so I am making that a goal for this year to write them after I finish a book. I also will be taking less reviews and book tours so that I can get some of my backlog books read and reviewed. I have finally made it through all of my emails so now I am prioritizing review requests and getting them done as fast as possible.
In my life it has been a busy January. In January we celebrated my husband's birthday with several dinner trips with family and friends. I went to the Devil's game with my friend and we had amazing seats. The weather has gotten a little better, it started with a very cold January. Work has been quiet so I am able to get slightly caught up with my blogging. February I am going to be traveling again for work so hopefully I will get some reading done on my flights.
...................................................
My favorite book I read in January was: The Bastard's Bargain - Katee Robert (Completed 1/22/18) - My review is part of a Blog Tour that I will post on 2/8/18
I can't wait to read in February: I Stop Somewhere - T.E. Carter - I am participating in a Blog Tour for this book and it sounds so interesting I can't wait to see if the emotions truly come through from the author.
Books Completed in January:
Getting Off - Erica Garza (Completed 1/1/18)
Caught - Karen Fenech (Completed 1/6/18)

How was your January? What do you have planned for February?
I am all about keeping on top of reviews this year too. So far, so good. We will have to remind each other to keep at it. ;) I am starting I Stop Somewhere either today or tomorrow. I am hearing so many good things. I can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteReminders are key!! I just got I Stop Somewhere in the mail I am hoping to start it Friday/Saturday. I can't wait to read it either! I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteI just finished I Stop Somewhere, and wow! I am so emotional just thinking about it, which is good because I am going to write my review now.
DeleteThat is good to know! It is my book for the weekend! I can't wait!
DeleteI am also trying to stay on top of reviews this year and so far so good. Sounds like you had a fun January and yay for better weather. Have a great February!
ReplyDeleteStaying on top of reviews is key. Finally better weather! Have a great February too!! Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteSame thing with reviews! I find it SO hard to write them ~immediately. I usually need at least a week to digest the book before coming up with solid thoughts about it. D: But I will definitely try harder this year! And belated happy birthday to your husband! <3
ReplyDelete- Aimee @ Aimee, Always
I agree sometimes I need longer to digest a book before writing a review. Thank you for stopping by!
Deletegreat month, and so many audiobooks! when do you listen to them? are you commuting?
ReplyDeleteWe have been a little slow at work so I am able to listen to them through out libraries app on my phone to keep the day moving!
DeleteWow you read so many books this month :-) That was really impressive. I love the idea of audiobooks, but I find it so hard to stay connected to them!

Thank you!! It is easy when I am at work stuck with my computer in front of me it gives me something to focus on when there isn't to much distraction. thank you for stopping by!
DeleteI've been trying to write my reviews right after finishing too, it seems to work better than if I wait and a week or two later I'm fuzzy on the details! And good luck with the reading! Wintersong looks great.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree the time gap doesn't help me write the reviews! Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteI honestly can't believe it is February already. January felt like such a long month and yet I can't believe it is already February. OMG. That's so great that you loved The Bastard's Bargain! I need to read it ASAP for the blog tour. I hope February treats you well!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Kristyn. =)

I know time is flying!! I hope you enjoy The Bastard's Bargain! Thank you for stopping by! Have a great February!
DeleteI loved Small Great Things, Most Wanted, One Perfect Lie, and Talking As Fast As I Can.
ReplyDeleteI write my reviews right after I finish the book, but close to the review dates on those books, which means I don't read the books I'm eager to read...until almost release date!
Good luck with your reviews...I had to cut back on review books, too, and now only take the occasional author I know...and NetGalley.
Enjoy!
I loved Small Great Things it was everything I could have hoped for. I need to get better at writing them right after I read the book! Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteHow is Wintersong? I've been meaning to read it forever!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you were able to read quite a few books in January. Nice!
Do You Dog-ear?
