Pages Read: 120 pages

Tuesday 1/5/16

Books Started: None
Books Finished: None
Pages Read: 120/208 in The Color Purple - Alice Walker

Tuesday’s 1/5/16 challenge was Would You Rather . . .  hosted over @ Writing My Own Fairy Tale
 Would you rather:
Lend books to someone who dog-ears pages or to someone who reads with cheesy Cheetos fingers? - Both seem to be part of my nightmare but I would go with someone who reads with cheesy Cheetos fingers, maybe I could get them out when they give the book back!

Would you rather:
Be able to meet one character of your choice or meet one author of your choice? - I would rather meet one author of my choice.  I typically fall for a authors style so than we can talk about all of the characters :)

Would you rather:
Never be allowed in a book store again or never be allowed in a library again? - Never be allowed in a book store again, I live in the library!

Would you rather:
Have to choose one of your favorite characters to die in their book or have to pick one of your favorite couples to break up in their book? - I would have to pick on of my favorite book couples to break up, I could imagine killing someone off.  Since it is fiction wouldn't there be a possibility for them to get back together!

Would you rather:
Be required to read Twilight once a year for the rest of your life or The Scarlet Letter once a year for the rest of your life? - Twilight a 100% once a year for the rest of my life, I love that series!

Wednesday 1/6/16
Books Started: The Uncommon Reader  Alan Bennett
Books Finished: The Color Purple - Alice Walker
Pages Read: TCP 208/288   TUR 1/30

Wednesday's 1/6/16 challenge I have selected the author's challenge hosted by Randy Runt of a Reader, below are the rules:
For the author challenge, use authors surnames to complete an acrostic poem style rainbow of ROYGBIV – you can only use surnames and no prefixes (eg. Vincent van Gogh could be used for a G, not a V). Any ‘writer’ is acceptable, for example, playwrights, poets and comic book/graphic novel authors)

Try to fill your list with authors you have read, and that way I can learn about you and your tastes! If not, branch out and select an author you would like to read. If you still can’t find an author (I’m looking at you, Y) then select someone people have likely heard of!

R – Roth, Veronica

O –Oliver, Lauren

Y –Yancey, Richard

G – Green, John

B – Buxbaum, Julie

I – Isadora, Rachel

V – Vonnegut, Kurt

Thursday 1/7/16
Books Started: Dear Daughter
Books Finished: None
Pages Read: TUR 31/54, DD 1/218
Thursday 1/7/16 Challenge is Bout of Books Challenge: Villain Mash Up Hosted by Bingeing on Books:
Here are the rules for the challenge:
  • Pick villains from two different books that you would love to see fight each other. It can be from any genre and it doesn't even have to be a physical fight. It could be a verbal one as well.
  • Give a short reason why you think these villains should fight each other

I am going to pick two villains from my recent reads.  I am going t pick Vivienne from Little Faces who is the murderer of her daughter in law and Benito Ramirez from One for the Money by Janet Evanovich.  I know it is a really random pair of villains, but I would love to see a verbal fight between the two of them.  Vivienne is a strong women set in her ways  and wouldn't let anyone push her around.  Benito Ramirez is a crazy boxer from the mean streets of Trenton who stalks people.  I feel like based on Vivenne's character she might actually want advise from Benito on how to take people out and hide them.  It might not be a fighter after all!

  1. I agree with the choosing an author. That way you get to talk about and meet all the characters they created!
